Knowing WHERE to find you ideal clients can be confusing for sure. “Are they on Facebook…or Instagram? Or wait, should I find them locally? I’ve heard Pinterest is good.”
And when you’re looking in the wrong places or spending your time marketing in ways that don’t make absolute sense for your ideal clients, you’re going to have a much harder time gaining new bookings. It’ll make it feel like the marketing you’re doing isn’t right when maybe it’s just WHERE you’re marketing that’s off.
So let’s get RIGHT into today. I’m going to give you a super simple exercise (that get’s a bit creative) so you know exactly know where is the best place for YOU to get in front of and connect with your ideal clients. So you can use your marketing strategies to get out there, get seen, and get those new bookings with confidence (and a lot more ease)!
Below, I’m sharing with you the second video in the mini-training series that I’m currently doing in the Thriving Healthpreneurs Community where I cover how to creatively find your ideal clients.
In my previous post, 4 Step Process for Gaining New Bookings, step one was all about understanding who your ideal clients are, what they really want, and what is it they really need.
Today, we will cover step two which is all about finding and getting in front of your ideal clients in a way that makes sense, so you can have an easier time connecting with them and converting them.
To help you with this, here is a two-part exercise which can help open your eyes up to some creative places that you haven’t thought about that.
By doing this exercise, you can really get in front of your targeted ideal clients in a way where they’re already open up to the ideas of getting help with their needs or searching for what is is that they need help with!
So, grab a pen and a piece of paper, and let’s start! You’re going to make 2 lists.
List 1: Daily Life
Braindump all the places WHERE your ideal client is showing up on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis over the course of their regular life. This could be online or offline.
Here are some guide questions that can help you go through their life and schedule.
- What are they doing on a daily, weekly, monthly basis?
- Where are they hanging out?
- What websites do they check in the morning?
- Which social media platforms or specific accounts do they check/follow?
- What are their habits on social media? Are they just scrolling through their feed? Are they in Facebook groups? What groups?
- Do they drive to work and listen to a certain radio station or podcast?
- Do they go to the gym? Do they see a personal trainer or fitness class? Do yoga?
- Are they working? Do they working in a co-working space, an office, or in a certain store?
- Where do they shop?
- What kind of food stores do they go to? Local markets, grocery stores, health food stores?
- Do they belong in community groups, support groups, or clubs? Which ones?
List 2: Current Support
The second list is all about the problem/s or conditions that they are experiencing that you might be able to help them with. With this in mind, make a list of WHO or WHERE else they might be seeking support from about their problem.
For example, here are some questions you might want to consider.
- Do they go to their family doctor first?
- Are they seeing a specialist? What kind?
- Are they seeing another complementary or alternative practitioner?
- Are they going to health food stores to find supplements?
- Are they seeing personal trainers, health or life coaches?
- Are they in any community or support groups?
- Where are they seeking support for their problem/s?
Now look at your two lists and see what makes sense and what feels aligned with you. Choose one to three of these places, and that is where you are going to show up!
Ideally, you want these places to be where your ideal clients are showing up regularly and/or are very heavily engaged. Accordingly, you want to catch people when they’re engaged and not just doing a quick stroll.
To sum things up, make your 2 lists of where you can find your people, then choose one to three locations. I would love to know in the comments what three places you came up with!
